Pandavaleni or Pandava caves or Trirashmi Buddhist caves are one of the main attractions of the city. They are group of 24 caves situated at Trirashmi hills, 8 Kilometers away from Nashik. History of these caves dates back to 1st century BCE to 3rd Century CE. Most of the caves are Buddha Vihara and Chaitya Grihas. Some carvings are related to Jainism also. Kumbha Mela is held in Triambakeshwar in every 12 years when the planet Guru or Jupeter enters the Simha Rashi. They take holy bath in river Godavari and perform ritual and pay respect to their ancestors. Tourists from every corner of the world come to Nashik during Kumba Mela for being spectator this great celebration of Hinduism. During that time extra facilities of accommodation and safety are made by Government of Maharashtra and Local bodies of Nashik city. The next Kumbh Mela will be held in the year 2027.
